Parents and Toddlers

Children of all ages just love the steam railway! A full round trip takes just short of one hour, long enough to keep the interest. The standard "All-day Rover" ticket allows total freedom to hop on and off the train all day, so adding flexibility to longer or shorter journey times. On the trip children's interest is maintained by the varied and interesting countryside which includes farmland, woodland, open views of the Downs. It is always a challenge to spot different farm animals, wild animals, birds and varied lineside wild flowers.

Various activities of interest to children are listed under the "What to do section".

Baby changing facilities are provided at Havenstreet and Wootton stations. There is an additional baby changing room in the Refreshments building at Havenstreet.

Infants under 5 years travel free of charge (subject to a maximum of two per full fare paying adult - any additional infants will be charged at the child's rate). A reduced fare is available for children aged 5 to 15 years. There is a family ticket saving for groups of two adults and two children travelling together.
