Ashey

Now a basic brick structure, the station at Ashey was originally surprising quite grand, but due to ground subsidence it was abandoned by British Railways. Although not a regular stop for scheduled trains, passengers can request a call at Ashey Station. With a pretty rural setting it makes the ideal spot for a stroll in the countryside or a family picnic. For keen photographers Ashey offers excellent opportunities to capture passing trains.

At the end of March Ashey is transformed in to the Island’s equivalent of the Grand National. During what is known as the Ashey Scurry, a special train service is provided by the Steam Railway creating a buzz at this usually peaceful rural station.
