Enjoy a fabulous weekend of steam with, a traditional fairground and entertainment

Island Steam Fair

Now in its 47th year, the Island Steam Fair is back for another action-packed year. It’s the bank holiday event on the Island with bundles of fun and explosive acts in the main arena. Enjoy a fabulous collection of vintage transport, traditional fairground, live entertainment, plus steam trains running on the line.

A festival of Steam

At the heart of our show are the mighty steam traction engines. See a fabulous collection of road rollers, showman's engines and miniatures - these former workhorses make a fabulous sight, particularly when they steam around our main arena.

Arena Acts

The main arena is the place to go for action-packed entertainment. With a busy programme throughout the day, there's lots to keep everyone in the family enthralled.

For 2022 we welcome back the Sheep Show. Presented in humorous Kiwi style, they'll introduce you to their loveable breeds of sheep, each with a story to tell, and even their own theme tune!

The traction engines and historic vehicles like to get involved too. Our famous traction engine games sees them compete in a series of games and challenges.

Our steam gallopers are a big hit with all ages, whilst little ones will be kept busy with traditional games such as coconut shys and hook the duck. Refuel at one of the onsite refreshments kiosks or cool down with an ice cream, there’s even a real ale bar to keep dad happy.

Historic Vehicles

Discover a rich variety of vintage cars, military and commercial vehicles, motorbikes and tractors. They have all been lovingly cared for and restored by their owners who take great pride in exhibiting their pride and joy. Wander around the show field to find your favourite, and watch as they make an appearance in the main arena.

Live Music

Head down to the Woodland Stage for a great selection of live music between midday and 4pm.

Friday: The Ragtime Pluckers, Abacus and the Hula Hulagans

Saturday: The Rug Band, Coppersmith and JC & Angelina

Sunday: Second Time Around, Pete Sake and Red Sqrl

Monday: Abacus Duo, The Crew & Witches Promise

Steam Trains

Don't miss your ride behind our magnificent steam locomotives. Settle back in our Edwardian and Victorian carriages for an hour's ride through the Isle of Wight countryside. We operate an extensive service throughout the day. Your ticket includes unlimited journeys - please note that all seating is unreserved throughout this weekend.
