At Havenstreet station we offer a wide range of hot and cold meals, drinks and snacks.
Have a hearty lunch with home-cooked daily specials or choose from a selection of sandwiches, scrumptious cakes, hot and cold drinks.

The T-Junction kiosk, next to the signal box offers the perfect stop for a light bite, with sandwiches, snacks and drinks on offer.
During busier days and warmer months, the Ice Cream Parlour is open selling a range of flavours from Island-based Minghella ice cream and as you wander to Train Story pay a visit to the Coffee Container, an old British Railways shipping container turned coffee shop.
There are no refreshment facilities at Wootton, Ashey or Smallbrook stations, although there are pleasant picnic spots at Wootton and Ashey stations.
Car Park
Visiting the Isle of Wight Steam Railway by car is easy! Our large FREE car park close to Havenstreet station provides plenty of space for cars and coaches, plus plenty of disabled parking bays.
The main car park provides easy and fairly level access to the station.

On busier days, such as when special events are running, we have a large overflow car parking area.
Alternatively, you may choose to join the train at Wootton where we have another, although smaller, FREE car park.
There is no vehicular access or parking at Ashey or Smallbrook Junction stations.
Toilets
There are toilet facilities available at three of our stations.
At Havenstreet Station, we have toilets in several buildings: our events barn, refreshment rooms, Train Story Discovery Centre and the original station building.

Wootton Station is a typical country station reflecting Edwardian times at the turn of the century. Modern toilets facilities including an accessible toilet are located in the station building.
Smallbrook Junction is not served by mains drainage; however, a modern effective environment friendly composting toilet is available.
There are no toilet facilities at Ashey Station.
Wifi – Free public wifi is provided at Havenstreet station in the refreshment rooms and adjoining outdoor area. No password is required.
Our booking offices at Havenstreet, Smallbrook Junction and Wootton are equipped with hearing loops.
Our passenger carriages
Our beautifully restored Victorian and Edwardian carriages are extremely comfortable and take you back to a bygone era of passenger travel.
The individual first and third class compartments typical seat around 8 people but some carriages have a saloon layout.
Parents and Toddlers
Children of all ages just love the steam railway! A full round trip takes just short of one hour, long enough to keep the interest. On the trip children’s interest is maintained by the varied and interesting countryside which includes farmland, woodland, open views of the Downs. It is always a challenge to spot different farm animals, wild animals, birds and varied lineside wild flowers.
At Havenstret station, children can follow our Railway Folk activity trail, and win a prize by finding all the characters.

Baby changing facilities are provided at Havenstreet and Wootton stations. There is an additional baby changing room in the Refreshments building at Havenstreet.
Infants under 5 years travel free of charge (subject to a maximum of two per full fare paying adult – any additional infants will be charged at the child’s rate). A reduced fare is available for children aged 5 to 17 years. There is a family ticket saving for groups of two adults and two children travelling together.
Bikes, Pushchairs and Buggies
Owing to limited space in our Victorian and Edwardian carriages we ask that all cycles, pushchairs and buggies are either left in the undercover buggy park at Havenstreet station or transported in our guards van. Our friendly and helpful platform staff will always help you load and unload, allowing you to relax in comfort.
The Isle of Wight Steam Railway is a great way for cyclists to explore the tracks and lanes around Ashey, Havenstreet and Wootton.

With mainland access via Ryde and Smallbrook Junction, take your bike to Wootton which affords direct access to cycle routes to Cowes, Ryde and the north east of the Island. A request stop at Ashey halt affords access to routes around the east of the Island and around Brading and Sandown.
Wightlink, Island Line and the Steam Railway will carry your bicycle for free so you can enjoy over 200 miles of cycle routes on the Island across a stunning and varied landscape.

Bringing a Dog
Dogs are very welcome and travel free on all our trains. Please keep your dog on a short lead at all times, and we ask that dogs do not sit on the carriage seats.
